Australian astronomers used a great big new installation to
examine Gliese 581, a star known to host planets in its habitable
zone. It has six planets, two that are like super-Earths. The research was done, but nothing was found.
It doesn't affects me, but annoys me. I don't understand why we have to spend our time and money exploring the space while there are a lot of people dying because of diseases. I imagine how the installation costs, for nothing...
What exactly do astronauts in the space? Explore? The only use I can see for this is the experimentation on 0 gravity conditions... But I think that we can already simulate this conditions on the Earth, so... I realise that we can find intesting things outside (like material), but meanwhile, a lot of poor people is dying because they can't eat (What cost of fabrication has a rocket? Maybe 10 human lives? Much more, I think)
